L’AFFAIRE DUMONT Tuesday, April 9 – 6:00pm

Toronto Theatrical Premiere

Marc-André Grondin in attendance

Based on the true story of Michel Dumont, thrown off by his accusation and condemnation for the rape of Danielle Lechasseur, “this story is filled with spectacular turnabouts, contradictory testimonies and colossal blunders (the Québécois justice system takes it right in the teeth…)” (André Lavoie, Le Devoir).
Before going to prison, Michel meets Solange who is convinced he is innocent. They get married and together, they confront the titans of the Québec justice system.
“It sounds like a Kafka story: a poor man finds himself caught in an incredible and unstoppable grind. And when you read the preliminary inquiry and the trial minutes – we introduced a few in the script – it literally becomes like a Ionesco play!” (Danielle Dansereau, the scriptwriter).
“A great Quebecois film masterfully directed by Podz, played by outstanding actors Marc-André Grondin and Marilyn Castonguay.  Controversial or not, you have to see it! The verdict? It is well worth the full price!” (Whatatthemovies)

A gut-wrenching film!
